"There will be new categories [in 2014]," Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) CEO Tim Cook told The Wall Street Journal in a recent interview. Repeated comments like this from Cook have sparked a lot of speculation in the ever active Apple rumor mill about what product categories Cook may be referring to. A television? An iWatch? A mobile payment service using Touch ID?

Most of the recent new product category rumors to surface have been related to the so-called iWatch. And now a new in-depth report from MobiHealthNews, which claims to have sources with "limited but direct knowledge of Apple's plans," is taking these rumors to the next level.

In the video below, Fool contributor Daniel Sparks discusses these rumors along with why he believes investors should start thinking about the potential impact a new category may have on Apple's top and bottom line over the long haul.
