In its latest update on sales of its new line of AXON on-body wearable camcorders for police officers, TASER International (AXON -0.70%) reported Wednesday that it has booked three sizable new contracts with law enforcement -- and several smaller orders as well. All of these orders were received in, and are expected to turn up as revenue in the first half of fiscal 2014.

The headlines today feature:

  • The sale of 96 "AXON body" on-body cameras to the Danville Police Department in Virginia, plus a four-year contract to provide EVIDENCE.com digital video storage service for the devices.
  • The sale of 84 more AXON body cameras, along with EVIDENCE.com service for an unspecified duration, for the Duluth Police Department in Minnesota.
  • The sale of 50 "AXON flex" on-body cameras to the Miami Police Department in Florida.

TASER noted that it has made additional sales of AXON body and flex cameras, plus EVIDENCE.com subscriptions, to law enforcement agencies in: Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Idaho, Kentucky, New Mexico, Missouri, North Carolina, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington state, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

At announced prices of $499 for AXON flex and $299 for AXON body, these sales appear to represent one-time H1 2014 sales revenue of more than $78,000 for TASER, with recurring monthly EVIDENCE.com revenues in excess of $1,800.
