Forget browsing the Web, posting status updates, and reading your email. According to the Fool's Steve Symington in the following video, NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) is making a concerted effort to inform consumers tablets are capable of so much more.
Specifically, Steve was surprised to see just how much focus NVIDIA placed on its Tegra NOTE 7 tablets going into last weekend's PAX East 2014 conference. NVIDIA even gave away dozens of NOTE 7s at the event, while highlighting several key gaming-centric features including new titles optimized for the platform, front-facing speakers, options for playing controller-based games, and the ability to connect the NOTE 7 to large displays.
This doesn't mean NVIDIA is aiming to challenge current tablet industry leaders like Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) on the sales front. At the same time, however, NVIDIA's efforts could go a long way toward shifting consumers' narrow view of what tablets are actually meant to do.

The biggest thing to come out of Silicon Valley in years
But this also doesn't mean tablets are technology's final frontier. If you thought Apple's iPod, the iPhone, and the iPad were amazing, just wait until you see this. One hundred of Apple's top engineers are busy building one in a secret lab. And an ABI Research report predicts 485 million of them could be sold over the next decade. But you can invest in it right now, for just a fraction of the price of Apple stock. Click here to get the full story in this eye-opening new report.
