3 Tech Stocks Benefiting From Amazon's Fire Phone

After Amazon.com (NASDAQ: AMZN  ) unveiled its new Fire smartphone this week, investors have buzzed with excitement given its potential to boost the online retailer's fortunes. After all, the Fire is not only a slick smartphone, but also serves as a veritable shopping device closely tied into Amazon's ecosystem.

The Fool's Steve Symington says that buying Amazon stock isn't the only way investors can profit from the Fire phone's success. Steve notes that the Fire phone boasts the cover protection of Corning's (NYSE: GLW  ) Gorilla Glass 3, the processing power of Qualcomm's (NASDAQ: QCOM  ) Snapdragon 800 series CPUs, and the superior audio afforded by Dolby Laboratories' (NYSE: DLB  ) Dolby Digital Plus technology.

Of course, the Fire phone won't be officially released until July 25, so it remains to be seen just how many units Amazon can sell. But even in the absence of enormous sales, Steve thinks the inclusion of products from Corning, Qualcomm, and Dolby in Amazon's Fire phone should still be a net positive for each company.
