Every day, the sun rises on Wall Street, and a plethora of professional analysts wake to issue new opinions on stocks. Here at the Fool, we use our "This Just In" column to examine some of these picks -- and the track record of the firm behind them -- so individuals can make better investing decisions.

In addition to following professional banks, anyone can use Motley Fool CAPS to monitor the collective opinions of more than 105,000 investors. With a scoring system that tracks all stock recommendations, many of these investors actually demonstrate better investing insight than published analysts do.

Enough top-performing CAPS investors have turned bullish on alternative-energy firm Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide (Nasdaq: QTWW) recently to upgrade it from its bottom-feeding one-star rank to a more respectable two stars. Many investors -- 246 to date -- have given their opinion on Quantum Fuel Systems, with many of them offering analysis and commentary explaining the recent optimism.

With the wind of soaring gas prices in its sails lately, Quantum Fuel has a double dose of optimism, since it attempts to be part of a viable solution to alternative-energy-fueled automobiles. Early this year, Quantum shed the Tecstar business that supplied parts for GM (NYSE: GM) vehicles and turned its focus to propulsion, solar, and battery systems.

Shares of Quantum Fuel have been soaring lately, with several new contracts signed with partners to develop and deliver alternative energy solutions in multiple markets. Square in the race to deliver plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), Quantum Fuel is up against competitors like Johnson Controls (NYSE: JCI), who recently teamed up with Ford (NYSE: F) and European battery manufacturer Saft to power a test fleet of Ford Escape plug-in hybrids.

With Toyota Motors (NYSE: TM) working on a plug-in version of the Prius and many other manufacturers plowing resources into lithium technology, a few more CAPS investors are believing Quantum Fuel may have a viable future. Today, more than 75% of CAPS players rating Quantum Fuel expect it to outperform the market going forward.

To see what the very best CAPS analysts are saying now about Quantum -- as well as other winning stocks they are picking -- head on over to CAPS and have a look. The community research and resources in CAPS are totally free, unlike analyst opinions reserved for paying clients.
