It operates through the following business segments: Currency; Identity Solutions; and Authentication. The Currency segment provides printed banknotes, banknote paper and polymer substrates and banknote security components. The Identity Solutions segment involves in the provision of passport, epassport, national ID and eID, driving licence and voter registration schemes. The Authentication segment engages in the supply of a range of physical and digital solutions, such as: tax stamps and supporting software solutions, authentication labels and associated brand protection digital solutions, cheques and bank cards for Africa, and ID security components including polycarbonate. The company was founded by Thomas de la Rue in February 1813 and is headquartered in Basingstoke, the United Kingdom.
