Welcome back to another Foolish review of the hottest stocks, as ranked by Motley Fool CAPS. We're looking at the three best-performing industries over the past 30 days and your favorite long and short candidates in each.

Last week and the week before, stocks hailing from Venezuela (or with major operations there) were burning hotter than a match dipped in gasoline. But not this week. This time, makers of personal digital assistants or their components have produced the big returns. Stocks in this sector, as a group, are up 8.8% over the past 30 days.

Who are the other hot ones? Have a look:

  • Creators of cancer drugs are second-best. Stocks of cellular soldiers such as Celgene (NASDAQ:CELG), as a group, are up 6.9% over the past 30 days.
  • For the second straight week, the uranium producers are third-best. Digging for radioactive gold has stocks in this sector, as a group, up 6.8% over the past 30 days.
