Netflix and Google's YouTube have transformed the way we consume online video, making it seem like Yahoo! (NASDAQ: YHOO), AOL (NYSE: AOL), and Amazon's (AMZN 3.43%) video efforts are copy-cat divisions in the ever-growing online video war.

But that's not the whole story.

While there are similarities in their strategies, Yahoo!, AOL, and Amazon aren't simply building up an online video library to go after Netflix or YouTube. Rather, there are other, bigger competitors to profit off of:  The cable companies (like Time Warner).
