Boeing (BA -2.87%) released its latest report on airplane orders received -- and canceled -- in the first half of 2013 on Thursday.
To date, the aerospace giant has booked:
- 678 gross orders for various flavors of its 737 regional airliner (up from 431 reported last month).
- 82 orders for its 787 Dreamliner (up from 42 reported last month).
- 29 for the 777 airliner (the same number as last month).
- and three 747 orders (the same number as last month).
From this total, Boeing subtracted 87 737s, five 747s, and eight 777s for customer cancellations, resulting in a net of 692 commercial airplanes ordered year-to-date. That's 257 more planes than the company showed on its order books last month, prior to the Paris Air Show.
On Wednesday, Boeing released figures for the second quarter of 2013, and Fool analyst Daniel Ferry reports that the figures show the company increased deliveries by 13% over the quarter, and delivered more planes in a quarter than it has since 1998.
