We all know that opposites attract, but Netflix (NFLX 1.37%) is now making it easier than ever to make sure it stays that way. The company announced yesterday that users can now add up to five personalized profiles to any single Netflix account, keeping suggestions specific to individuals and queues consistent.

Netflix says that the new feature will hit most Netflix devices over the next few days, including iPads, iPhones, PlayStation 3's, Xbox 360's, Apple TVs, Blu-Ray players, and the latest Smart TVs. Director of Production Innovation Eddy Wu says users can expect profile options to hit Nintendo Wii and Android devices soon.

Netflix considers its recommendation system to be one of its biggest advantages over rival Internet video services. As long as Netflix keeps steering its subscribers to videos that they like, the company figures customers will be less likely to cancel the service. The company says about three-fourths of the video watching on its service is driven by its recommendations.

The new profiles can also be used to link to each user's Facebook account. That connection allows Netflix members see what the other people in their online social network have been watching on Netflix, too.
