Fool contributor Anders Bylund caught wind of TIBCO Software (TIBX.DL) about five years ago. It looked like a potential buyout target at the time, except that TIBCO's stubborn individualism was an important moat-building advantage that would get lost in an acquisition.

Anders watched the stock from the sidelines while it more than doubled. The next time TIBCO stumbled and shares fell, Anders bought in. Then he watched his brand-new holdings decline in value as the problem that triggered the buy-in window turned out to linger.

But the dog days seem to be over now. In the following video, Anders explains why he still owns the stock, discusses what advantage it holds over larger rivals Oracle (ORCL 2.02%) and IBM (IBM -1.05%), and digs into the big opportunity right ahead. This is still a tremendous growth stock -- it just took a yearlong breather.
