Best Car Insurance Overall
State Farm

When reviewing our criteria for best overall car insurance carriers, State Farm excels across the board. From its solid customer service marks to competitive pricing and a wide variety of discount options, State Farm has a lot to offer consumers.
Best Cheap Car Insurance
Geico

When looking at both national and regional auto insurance rate data, Geico is consistently one of the cheapest options available time and time again. This holds true across driver categories. From new drivers to experienced and from drivers with excellent driving records to those with an accident or speeding history, Geico is typically cheaper than the overall average.
Best Car Insurance for Teens/New Drivers
Allstate

There were several worthy candidates for this category, but Allstate came out on top due to it’s consistently lower rates across the nation for teens and new drivers. Couple that with discount options available to drivers of all ages, and Allstate is our winner in this category.
Best Car Insurance for Veterans
USAA

Due to excellent customer service scores and low rates for qualifying members, USAA is our clear-cut choice for the best car insurance for veterans. USAA is the gold standard when it comes to insurance for our nation's military and their family members -- and that hasn’t changed this year.
Best Car Insurance for Bad Credit
Geico

Looking at national data trends, Geico typically comes in close to 14% cheaper for drivers with poor credit than the average carrier. This falls in line with what we've seen from Geico and their competitive pricing across all driver profiles.
Best High Risk Car Insurance
State Farm

Insurance rates for high-risk drivers can escalate quickly. However we consistently saw State Farm rates track lower than most of the competition when it comes to high-risk drivers and those who have an accident or speeding ticket on their driving record.
