The company has declared a quarterly common stock dividend of $0.305 per share, to be handed out on September 13 to shareholders of record as of August 22. That amount matches both of the energy firm's two preceding distributions, the most recent of which was paid in June. Before that, Avista dispensed a cent and a half less, or $0.29 per share.
As with many firms in the utilities sector, the company has been a steady and consistent dividend payer for several decades. Since September 1950, when it was known as The Washington Water Power Company, it has dispensed a payout in every quarter.
The just-declared dividend annualizes to $1.22 per share. That yields 4.3% at Avista's most recent closing stock price of $28.62.
