Our top gainer, ProLogis, attracted a crowd for reasons not yet reported by the rest of the financial media. So be it. We Fools are more interested in buy-to-hold stock stories anyway. Are any of our large-cap leaders worth owning over the next three to five years?

Constellation, a Maryland public utility, and Nike, whose global footprint is unmistakable, could be. The 65,000-plus professional and amateur investors rating these stocks in our Motley Fool CAPS investor-intelligence database give them at least four stars each. Here are some of the community's reasons why.

Of Constellation, CAPS All-Star NicieNicie writes:

A class act -- a well-run and well-regarded utility with most of its non-regulated companies contiguous or nearly so to the original Baltimore Electric & Gas. ... It also has been an unusually steady stock for one with such big returns. I am seriously considering picking up some [shares]; I've a hunch that even if the utilities segment dives again, with [Constellation Energy] I'll be satisfied to hold.

And on Nike, gopirque says:

I've seen Nike collectively take out the number one companies in golf and soccer where Nike was barely a presence. Now, Nike has strong positions in each of those sports, as well as maintaining their share in the others. [The] only real competition I see is Under Armour (NYSE:UA). If Nike can somehow pry the World Cup away from Adidas, then that will be huge (let me remind you that soccer is the world's sport).
