The fact that this card includes no annual fee makes it an easy call for Amazon Prime members. Simply put, the cash back rate is among the highest you'll find for Amazon and Whole Foods purchases.
This credit card is a good fit for: Amazon Prime members who want to earn as much back as possible on purchases with the retail giant.
Here are all the best benefits you get with the Prime Visa.
Here are the Prime Visa's cash back rates:
Unlike lots of cash back cards, you don't need to wait long to use your rewards. You can redeem them at Amazon.com as soon as the next day. Or, you can redeem them at Chase.com for cash back, gift cards, or travel.
Get a $100 (or more) Amazon Gift Card upon approval for the Prime Visa. This is loaded to your Amazon account, so you can use it right away. It's a reasonable amount, and unlike most credit card sign-up bonuses, it doesn't require you to spend anything to earn it.
As a Prime cardmember, you can earn 10% back or more on a rotating selection of items and categories on Amazon. These are limited-time offers, but they're a great way to earn even more cash back.
This credit card offers financing plans with a 0% APR. You can pay off purchases of $50 or more in six equal monthly payments and purchases of $250 or more in 12 equal monthly payments. If you don't pay off the purchase within that time period, any remaining amount will start incurring interest charges at your card's standard purchase APR.
Note that purchases paid for this way aren't eligible to earn rewards. When you make the purchase, you need to choose between earning cash back or 0% APR financing.
This Amazon card has several complimentary protections that can come in handy if anything goes wrong with a trip or purchase. These include:

While the Prime Visa doesn't have any glaring flaws, there are some minor drawbacks to this credit card.
The Prime Visa doesn't charge an annual fee, but it requires cardholders to have a Prime membership. That costs $14.99 per month or $139 per year. If you don't have a Prime membership, you can still apply for an Amazon credit card, but you'll only be eligible for the Amazon Visa. This has lower cash back rates and a smaller welcome offer. In that situation, you may want to look at other credit card reviews first to see if there's a better option out there.
Although this card gives you the option to pay over time with a 0% APR, it doesn't have a 0% intro APR that applies to all purchases or balance transfers. Other cards do, which is helpful if you need interest-free financing for more than just Amazon purchases or if you want to refinance credit card debt. If so, check out our top picks for these types of cards:

A FICO® Score of 670 or higher is recommended to apply for the Prime Visa. This card is aimed at consumers with good credit, although it's possible to get approved with a lower credit score.
Because Chase issues this credit card, it's subject to the Chase 5/24 rule. If you've already opened five or more credit cards within the previous 24 months, any application for a Chase card like this one will most likely be denied.
If you're always shopping on Amazon and you buy your groceries at Whole Foods, the Prime Visa will fit you like a glove.
A 5% cash back rate is something you only see with the best credit cards. Those also normally have spending caps on how much bonus cash back you can earn. This Amazon credit card is an exception, because its 5% rates apply no matter how much you spend.
If this credit card isn't right for you, head over to see our guide on the best credit cards for Amazon, where you can explore more cards that may better fit your needs.
The credit limit for the Prime Visa ranges from $500 to over $10,000 depending on the cardholder's income and credit history.
The Prime Visa doesn't charge a monthly or annual fee. However, you need to be an Amazon Prime member to qualify for the card, and that program has a membership fee.
Yes, students can qualify for the Prime Visa. Eligibility requirements are the same for students as any other applicant. They must have an Amazon Prime or Amazon Prime Student membership, a form of income, and an established credit history.
