Although we don't believe in timing the market or panicking over market movements, we do like to keep an eye on big changes -- just in case they're material to our investing thesis.

What: Shares of AsiaInfo-Linkage (Nasdaq: ASIA) jumped 10% today in an otherwise quiet day.

So what: We saw a similar newsless pop exactly a week ago, so maybe there's something mysterious about Tuesdays. After a freefall to start June, shares are just recovering some of their losses, but the timing is interesting.

Now what: Volume wasn't higher than usual, so we can't even speculate that a big buyer is moving into the market. I can't find a reason to either change your investment thesis or buy into a move like this. It would be better to chalk it up to a nice move on an up day in the market rather than a fundamental move.
