Just 14 months after Starbucks (SBUX 0.22%) acquired Evolution Fresh, East Coast customers can now taste the cold-pressed juices themselves at select stores. Starting this week in New York City and next week in Boston, the juices will be available in six different fruit and vegetable concoctions. Prices start at $3.95.

By expanding distribution on the East Coast, Evolution Fresh juices are available now at nearly 4,000 locations nationwide. By the end of 2013, Starbucks expects to grow that number to 8,000 Starbucks and grocery stores in the hopes of capturing the wider $3.4 billion super-premium, cold-pressed juice market.

To celebrate the event, Starbucks will host free samplings in New York City on Feb. 14-16 and Feb. 21-23.

"Since the introduction of Evolution Fresh juice, customer feedback has been extremely positive and we've seen significant repeat purchases as a result of these squeezed fresh, incredible tasting juices," said Cliff Burrows, president, Americas. "We are excited to offer Evolution Fresh in New York and Boston as we expand from the West Coast. This is a significant step in our efforts to harness strong customer interest and create broad availability throughout the U.S."

As stated in June, Evolution Fresh will open a juicery in southern California later this year to help with distribution efforts on the West Coast and support continued eastward expansion.
