This approach requires you to assign a job to every dollar of your income, such as paying down credit card debt, increasing your emergency fund, and paying your bills. This system makes you think about how you use your money, leading to better spending habits, more savings, and fewer wasteful purchases. There is a subscription fee for YNAB, but new budgeters can reportedly save more than $6,000 in the first year.
