5 Big Discounts Chase Sapphire Cardholders Can Get Now
KEY POINTS
- Partner benefits can get you deals on ride-hailing and food delivery.
- The Chase Offers portal is great for cash back on everything from streaming to dining.
- Every deal has an expiration date, so keep an eye on the fine print.
The Chase Sapphire cards are some of the most popular travel rewards cards for several good reasons. If nothing else, the Ultimate Rewards points you earn are a highly valued travel rewards currency.
But the appeal of the Chase Sapphire Reserve® and Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card goes beyond travel rewards. You can also find tons of awesome deals through partner benefits, as well as through your Chase Offers portal. Here are some examples you may find right now.
1. DoorDash DashPass and credits
Chase has had a long partnership with DoorDash offering free DashPass membership. If you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, you'll also get a monthly statement credit:
- Chase Sapphire Reserve®: Receive a minimum of one year of complimentary DashPass, as well as up to $5 in statement credits each month for DoorDash purchases.
- Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card: Receive a minimum of one year of complimentary DashPass membership.
The current partnership benefit has an expiration date of Dec. 31, 2027, so make sure you activate your free membership before then. (That said, it would not be surprising if this benefit gets extended, as it has been extended on multiple occasions in the past.)
2. 5x points on Lyft
Another partner benefit that varies by card, you can get at least bonus points on Lyft rides, if not more:
- Chase Sapphire Reserve®: Earn 2x points per $1 on Lyft rides. This stacks with your regular 3x points per $1 on travel purchases, giving you a total of 5x points on Lyft rides. Plus, enjoy a $10 monthly in-app Lyft credit.
- Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card: Earn 5x points per $1 on Lyft rides.
The bonus rewards on Lyft rides can be earned through Sept. 30, 2027.
3. $3 back on Paramount+, AMC+, and STARZ
In a perfect example of becoming the monster you hated, the cost of streaming services is getting closer and closer to cable. Credit card rewards are already one of my go-to ways to keep streaming costs down. But I also like to stack them with credit card issuer offers when I can.
There's almost always at least one streaming offer in my Chase Offers portal, and I currently see three: Paramount+, AMC+, and STARZ. Each is offering $3 in cash back when you spend the minimum amount on your card.
The spending requirements are easy to meet. For instance, the Paramount+ offer requires a minimum spend of $4.49. Considering that the base-level Paramount+ Essential is $5.99, you should easily hit the requirement so long as you aren't stacking any other coupons.
4. Up to 10% back on select travel brands
Another type of deal I always see in my Chase Offers portal is some kind of cash back on specific travel brands. Right now, I'm seeing a variety of 10% cash back offers for hotels, an airline, and even rideshares. Here are a few that stand out:
- IHG Hotels & Resorts
- TownePlace Suites by Marriott
- Four Points by Sheraton
- Southwest Airlines
- Lyft
These bonuses stack with the regular 2x or 3x points you earn on travel with your card. And yes, as far as I can tell, the 10% cash back offer for Lyft should stack with your regular cardholder benefit listed above.
5. Extra 5% cash back at local restaurants
As more proof that targeted advertising is the future, I've recently started to see hyper-targeted offers for local small businesses in my Chase Offers portal. For example, I currently have three offers for independent restaurants that I know only operate in my local area.
Potentially creepy targeted advertising factor aside, both are offering me 5% cash back, which will be on top of the 3x points on dining I already earn with my card. Since I haven't had a chance to try many restaurants since the move, I'm probably going to give in to my advertising overlords and give at least one of these spots a try.
Watch your expiration dates
One important thing to keep in mind with any of these discounts, but especially the Chase Offers deals, is that they all have expiration dates. The transaction typically needs to hit your account before the expiration date for you to get the reward.
Also, don't expect to see your cash back right away. It can take a few weeks before the statement credit or rewards show up in your account.
Finally, don't forget to cancel any subscriptions or memberships before the end of your trial/discount if you don't want to pay full price. Set a phone reminder, use some sticky notes, have that one busybody neighbor remind you -- whatever you have to do.
