Are you looking to collect another Chase Sapphire card welcome bonus? You may need to wait a while.
The Chase Sapphire collection of credit cards are a favorite, especially for frequent travelers. That's because both cards offer some fantastic perks that can make travel a lot easier. Additionally, both the Chase Sapphire Reserve® and Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card have impressive welcome bonuses.
If you already have one of these cards or have had one in the past, you may be wondering if you can get another Sapphire card and earn the welcome bonus again. The good news is you can, but you're going to want to keep reading to find out about the restrictions.
Can you get a Chase Sapphire welcome bonus more than once?
You can qualify for this welcome bonus more than one time. However, if you read the sign-up bonus fine print, you'll see that there are restrictions in place to keep people from collecting the bonus regularly.
First, you can only earn a bonus once every 48 months. In addition, you can only carry one open Chase Sapphire card in your wallet. This means if you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve® card, last got the bonus 50 months ago, and you're thinking of getting the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, you'll need to downgrade or cancel the Chase Sapphire Reserve® card first.
This rule is important to remember. You don't want to apply for another Sapphire card and either get denied or not receive the bonus because your 48-month timeline is not yet up. Before you rush to fill out a Chase Sapphire credit card application, check to see when you last received the welcome bonus. If you're unsure, you can contact the Chase customer service line by calling 1-800-432-3117.
To receive a Chase Sapphire welcome bonus again, you'll need to play the waiting game. If you don't yet meet the 48-month timeline, you may want to consider applying for another credit card or waiting longer before applying. For more help or inspiration, check out our list of top credit cards.
