Capital One Launches Premier Collection for Luxury Hotel Stays

What happened

Capital One launched Premier Collection, a portfolio of luxury hotels, on Wednesday. It's exclusively available to cardholders of the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card and offers the following premium benefits:

• 10x miles on every booking
• A $100 experience credit that can be used towards things like meals, spas, and other experiences charged to your room (qualifying experiences vary by location)
• Daily breakfast for two
• Complimentary wifi
• Room upgrade, early check-in, and late checkout when available

Premier Collection currently includes hundreds of properties. Capital One said, "Our team hand-selected each and every property within the Premier Collection, looking beyond the obvious to find a diverse group of one-of-a-kind luxury hotels and resorts," in its initial news release announcing the hotel collection.

So what

Capital One has been making a push to appeal more to frequent travelers. It launched the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card, its first premium travel rewards card, in late 2021. Premier Collection now gives cardholders a way to book luxury stays and get extra perks. It's very similar to the American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts program and Chase's Luxury Hotel & Resort Collection.

At the moment, Premier Collection doesn't match those programs, each of which offer over 1,000 properties. But it just launched, and those programs have been around for years.
