  • YouTube creators and agencies should start by finding a growing niche and move on to building a team to monetize their channel(s).
  • Many YouTube channels and agencies are hiring.

The YouTube opportunity is massive and growing.

MrBeast's manager Reed Duchscher, the founder of Night Studios Co., manages over 16 YouTubers who collectively get more than 2.4 billion views per month. That's a lot of fire and heart-eye emojis. To put that into perspective, MrBeast's channel alone has a subscriber base bigger than most countries' populations.

There is money to be made on YouTube by content creators, agencies, and folks who want to join YouTube multimedia companies like Night Studio Co. In fact, MrBeast's manager believes that YouTube content creators are poised to become the next generation's media moguls.

In an interview with Noah Kagan, Reed Duchscher popped off three scorching-hot tips for making big money on YouTube.

1. Find a niche

Sure, MrBeast is mainstream now -- but did you know his channel used to post gaming videos exclusively? That's because content creators like MrBeast typically ramp up in a particular niche. Game streaming, ASMR, and yoga are all examples of popular YouTube niches.

Duchscher recommends folks who want to start YouTube agencies attach themselves to small content creators who build out niches with explosive growth potential. It's a win-win: the agency learns how to grow a channel, and the content creator gets help monetizing their platform. From there, agencies can potentially sign bigger and bigger clients.

2. Build a team

Sure, there are plenty of YouTubers out there forging ahead with nothing more than a webcam and their laptop. But according to Duchscher, most content creators who want to make big money need a team to scale their businesses. Examples listed by Duchscher include an internal production department and a creative department, among others.

YouTube's ad-sharing revenues are the No. 1 source of revenue for most content creators, but teams can help creators explore other ways to make money. For example, content creators can make a hefty salary by starting an online business that sells merchandise and apparel, like branded hoodies. MrBeast owns a website that sells branded hoodies, T-shirts, and mugs.

Some creators sell digital goods that fit their niche -- creators like MrBeast have creator codes used on gaming platforms like Minecraft and Roblox. Fans can support their favorite YouTubers by entering creator codes when purchasing digital goods.

Content creators might consider building upon their brand to launch secondary companies. MrBeast has launched two consumer brands: the gamified candy brand Feastables and the burger company MrBeast Burgers, which mostly delivers through Doordash and other 3rd-party vendors.

The best e-commerce solutions allow content creators to set up and scale their online stores quickly.

3. Join a team

The YouTube opportunity isn't limited to creators and managers. YouTube companies like Night Studio Co. and the MrBeast channel can't find enough talent to staff their teams.

For example: Can you make a mean YouTube thumbnail? If so, you might consider landing a job at a YouTube agency. As of this article's publication, MrBeast is hiring for 20 open roles, including two specific to producing quality thumbnails.

YouTube is an enduring business -- it's been around for over a decade, and Duchscher believes it will be around for the next decade, too. There's a wild west of YouTube gold to be mined by content creators and agencies, and according to the president and founder of Night Media Co., good agencies are in high demand.

Whether you're a creator, an agency, or just looking to break into the YouTube business, now is the time to figure out how to make big money on YouTube.
