Better Buy: Visa vs. American Express

Many investors put these in the same category, but there are some big differences.

Visa (V +0.21%) is not a cheap stock, but it has recession resistance and some pretty amazing competitive advantages. On the other hand, American Express (AXP 0.57%) has several different revenue streams and a much cheaper valuation. Which is the better buy right now?
