The following video is part of our "Motley Fool Conversations" series, in which senior technology analyst Eric Bleeker and developer Chris Bledsoe discuss topics across the investing world.

Republic Wireless recently started offering "unlimited" data, text, and phone calls for $20 per month, far undercutting similar plans from larger wireless companies. While the offer sounds compelling, it also requires users to remain on their Wi-Fi networks a set percent of usage. While such an offer might only appeal to a small subset of users, it highlights a broader trend of software gaining increasing leverage to circumvent the traditional wireless model of charging separately for voice, data, and text messaging. That could spell hard times ahead for the wireless industry.

Just because wireless companies are ceding control to smartphone companies like Apple doesn't mean telecom investors will get shut out from the technology revolution of the decade -- you just need to get some skin in the smartphone game. The Motley Fool has just released a free report on mobile named "The Next Trillion Dollar Revolution" that details a "hidden" component play inside mobile phones that's also absolutely dominating the exploding tech market in China. Inside the report, we not only describe why the mobile revolution will dwarf any other technology revolution seen before it, but we also name the company at the forefront of the trend.
