Widescreen movie maker IMAX (IMAX -1.77%) announced this morning that Eileen Campbell would be appointed the company's new chief marketing officer on July 15, filling a void created by the departure of previous CMO Marc de Grandpre, who left the company last August for a position as head of marketing for whole nut and fruit bar maker KIND.

Campbell has 30 years of experience in senior executive positions including a stint at global brand consulting agency Millward Brown, where she served most recently as the company's global CEO with responsibility for 78 offices in 51 countries. Prior to Millward Brown, Campbell also held senior leadership roles Angus Reid Group, NFO Worldgroup, and Maritz.

IMAX CEO Richard L. Gelfond said: "We believe Eileen's impressive marketing and leadership credentials coupled with her analytic-based approach to brand-building will help us to strengthen and extend our brand value in support of our continued growth."

IMAX is headquartered in New York, Toronto and Los Angeles, with offices in London, Tokyo, Shanghai and Beijing. There are 738 IMAX theaters (606 commercial multiplexes, 19 commercial destinations, and 113 institutions) in 53 countries.

Campbell graduated from Ohio's Heidelberg University where she studied economics and business administration.
