For the third time in its young existence, AbbVie (ABBV -4.58%) is paying a dividend. The company has declared a fresh quarterly distribution, which is to be $0.40 per share, paid on August 15 to shareholders of record as of July 15. That amount is in line with the two preceding disbursements, the most recent of which was handed out in mid-May.
Following its spin-off from Abbott Laboratories at the beginning of this year, AbbVie was quick to initiate dividend payments. The stock made its market debut on January 2, and its first disbursement was declared two days later.
The just-declared dividend annualizes to $1.60 per share. That yields 3.9% at AbbVie's current stock price of $41.29.
