There will soon be a new name next to the CFO title at American Express (AXP -0.31%). The company announced it has appointed Jeffrey Campbell to lead its finance team. He succeeds Daniel Henry, who is to retire later this year following a 23-year stint with the company. Campbell will join the firm next month as executive vice president, finance, and take up his CFO responsibilities in August. In addition to those two positions, he will also be a member of the financial services giant's operating committee.

Campbell comes to AmEx from McKesson (MCK -0.46%), where he served as executive vice president and CFO. He joined McKesson in 2003. His former employer said in a press release that it will replace him on an interim basis with its Vice President and Controller, Nigel Rees.
