Novavax (NVAX +1.84%) has a new man heading its finance team. That individual is Barclay "Buck" Phillips, who in addition to being CFO will also hold the position of senior vice president. The appointment is effective immediately.
Prior to coming to Novavax, Phillips filled the same roles at Micromet, which in January 2012 was acquired by Amgen. He also served as managing director at privately held Vector Fund Management and as an analyst and director of venture investments at Invesco.
In the press release announcing the appointment, Novavax quoted CEO Stanley Erck as saying that Phillips' insights "will be invaluable as we continue to develop and expand our pipeline of vaccine candidates and move toward commercial operations."
