Bagel maker Einstein Bagel Restaurant Group (NASDAQ: BAGL) has a new bean counter.
The Lakewood, Colo.-based restaurant chain announced today that John Coletta has taken on the role of chief financial officer, effective Oct. 21, assuming the position formerly held by Manny Hilario, who was appointed COO in July. Coletta is currently the CFO at Quiznos, a restaurant chain with 3,000 units across 33 countries, where he also served as president of the food division.
Coletta has more than 25 years of experience in finance, strategy, and executive management in restaurants, hospitality, retail, and development. He has held the title of CFO at Real Goods Solar; Cartridge World, where he also held the title of president; and Rock Bottom Restaurants, where he was also chief administrative officer.
Noting the broad expertise Coletta has had in privately held and publicly traded companies in a variety of industries, Einstein Bagel President and CEO Jeff O'Neill said, "As we continue to aggressively grow our concept nationwide, we are grateful to be strengthening our management team with such an experienced finance and restaurant leader, and look forward to his contributions."
The Colorado restauranteur consists of more than 820 restaurants in 40 states and the District of Columbia. It also operates a dough production facility.
