Car-rental agency Hertz (HTZG.Q) and online reservation, communication, and management system FlightBridge announced today that they have established a partnership allowing general aviation customers flying to fixed base operations -- or businesses providing aeronautical services such as hotels, vehicle rentals, catering, and fuel at airports -- to make Hertz car rental reservations using FlightBridge's tools.

Stating that the partnership provides the two companies' mutual customers a convenient one-stop option to book Hertz car rentals online at nearly 500 FBO locations nationwide, FlightBridge President Dudley King said, "FlightBridge will integrate with an aircraft operator's existing trip system, allowing Hertz car rentals, as well as other trip services and FBO arrangements, to be easily updated when trip changes occur."

As his company was already the preferred rental car company for many of the major private airline operating companies, Hertz Chairman and CEO Mark P. Frissora added, "Through our partnership with FlightBridge, we offer our mutual customers another option to easily reserve Hertz car rentals at any FBO location they choose."

Based in Park Ridge, N.J., Hertz operates through the Hertz, Dollar, Thrifty, and Firefly brands from approximately 10,400 locations around the world. Hertz alone is the largest worldwide airport general-use car rental brand, operating from approximately 8,800 locations in approximately 150 countries.

Privately held FlightBridge direct connects general aviation aircraft operators, FBOs, and their service providers with tools for managing trip information and services online.
