To wrap up today's Consumer Countdown, the team takes a look ahead at the Christmas season to try to figure out which company will dominate the holiday season.
Both Michael Finarelli and Sean O'Reilly think that Urban Outfitters (URBN +2.24%) looks very strong. Sean thinks that the company has been firing on all cylinders, while Mike agrees that the company has great momentum. He also likes the company's comp growth, as well as the fact that its small store base leaves plenty of room for expansion.
Meanwhile, if Urban Outfitters is winning, then Abercrombie & Fitch (ANF +3.40%) must be losing. Urban has a better retail store environment, and it feels like Abercrombie's brand has weakened.
That said, neither company can hold a candle to Amazon.com (AMZN 0.47%). The e-commerce titan looks poised to take over the world, and will almost certainly have a strong holiday season.
