Apple's (AAPL -0.81%) current success with its iPhone 6 and now 6s lineup hasn't slowed the company's ambition to have a slightly cheaper version of phone that entices consumers looking for a less expensive option. The iPhone 5c never became the hit Apple wanted it to be, but a slew of new rumors about a possible iPhone 6c have already surfaced.

The 6c is rumored to keep the same 4-inch display size of the iPhone 5s, but with a processor upgrade, a near-field communication chip for Apple Pay, and even a possible early launch date.

Most of the rumors come from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster, both of whom have solid track records on information about new Apple products.
