About Kaneka

Kaneka Corp. engages in the manufacture and sale of chemicals, synthetic resins, and plastics. It operates through the following segments: Material Solutions, Quality of Life Solutions, Health Care Solutions, Nutrition Solutions and Others. The Material Solutions segment covers biodegradable polymers, materials that support the development of social infrastructure and mobility which includes the weight reduction and fuel efficiency improvement. The Quality of Life Solutions segment handles energy saving needs such as housing and living infrastructure, and development of Internet of things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI). The Health Care Solutions segment offers solutions through the fusion of devices and medicines, and develops healthcare business based on biopharmaceuticals and regenerative and cellular medicines. The Nutrition Solutions segment provides materials and supplement solutions to food production support in livestock and fishery industries. The Others segment provides agency services for property and life insurance. The company was founded on September 1, 1949 and is headquartered in Osaka, Japan.
