ANN ARBOR, MI, April 18, 1996 -- The flurry of earnings report activity continued today -- from biggies like Microsoft and Gillette as well as obscure little outfits like one called Iomega, located someplace out in flyover country. Such excitement!

Here in the land of the Boring Portfolio, though, things were ... well, boring. With the NASDAQ up sharply today, our four-letter stocks did okay, with Lam Research continuing its post-report rise (up a dollar today), LCS Industries gaining a half-buck on decent volume (did someone read last night's Borefolio update, perhaps?), and Prime Medical Services picking up a quarter. Shaw Group was the only NASDAQ stock in the portfolio to lose ground, minus two-bits.

On the NYSE side of things, it was unmitigated ennui. Green Tree Financial and Texas Industries were "unch" on the day. Indeed, TXI barely showed up for work, trading a grand total of 3,000 shares all day. Borders lost a buck on what might fairly be characterized as some minor profit-taking following its recent surge above the $30 mark.

And that, amigos, is really all there is to say today. There was no news on any of the Borfolio holdings today. Nada.
