Amodei warns AI could outpace human control
Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei posted an essay to X over the weekend, arguing that AI capabilities were advancing too fast and that we are approaching a tipping point after which its models could outpace our ability to understand or control them. He pointed to what he calls recursive self-improvement (RSI) -- AI models improving themselves on their own -- as well as the recent Hugging Face hack in which autonomous agents from OpenAI attacked systems outside their defined task.

Amodei proposed several measures, including embedded independent evaluators and shared safety standards across the industry. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, and Alphabet's Demis Hassabis all agreed more was needed to ensure AI safety.
A slower AI buildout would cut demand for Astera's data-center networking gear
Astera supplies networking and connectivity products for AI data centers. Slower development of the technology could lead to a slower development of the physical infrastructure that supports it. That would mean less demand for Astera's components.
