Monday
ConAgra (NYSE:CAG), Walgreen (NYSE:WAG), and Jabil Circuit (NYSE:JBL) are some of the names offering their quarterly reports. It's a holiday week, so don't expect a lot of trading activity.

This should be a decent start to the quiet week, because analysts see food giant ConAgra and drugstore operator Walgreen delivering reasonable bottom-line growth for the quarter.

Tuesday
Linux pal Red Hat (NYSE:RHT) and Cintas (NASDAQ:CTAS), which provides workforce uniform and sanitation supplies, check in. Both companies are expected to post lower earnings than they did a year ago.

Wednesday
American Greetings (NYSE:AM) reports. Greeting cards seem so passe in a world of JibJab video greetings and posting on a birthday buddy's Facebook page, but American Greetings has found a way to stay relevant.

Wall Street sees the company earning $0.66 a share in its latest quarter, well above the $0.37 a share it rang up a year ago.

Thursday
The trading floor closes three hours early in observance of Christmas Eve. Yes, you're only getting three and a half days of trading this week. There aren't any earnings reports to look out for, so feel free to turn off CNBC early and celebrate.

Friday
Stateside markets are closed, so heading out to the multiplex could be a worthwhile diversion. There is never a shortage of movies opening on Christmas. The debuts include It's Complicated and Time Warner's (NYSE:TWX) Sherlock Holmes.

I'm going to sneak in some of the caramel corn or popcorn that was strung on the tree to avoid paying insane prices at the concession stands. Why? Elementary, my dear Watson.

Until next week, I remain,

Rick Munarriz
