The new trading week kicks off with Coeur d'Alene Mines (NYSE: CDE) and JinkoSolar (NYSE: JKS) reporting their quarterly financials.

The two companies have little in common. Coeur d'Alene is a silver miner with gold-mining interests, and Jinko makes silicon wafers that are used in solar-energy panels. However, both companies are expected to post modest year-over-year improvements on the bottom line.

(Nasdaq: DNDN) reports on Tuesday, and investors won't be overly concerned by the widening loss. Dendreon is a biotech making inroads in battling prostate cancer. As long as the pipeline news looks optimistic and the company has enough money to bankroll near-term losses, investors are here for the long-term payday.

(Nasdaq: COST) and BJ's Wholesale (NYSE: BJ) report on Wednesday, and the market will appreciate being able to compare the two warehouse clubs side by side. Wall Street's being pulled in two different directions, though. The pros see Costco growing its net income by 11%, but they're targeting a small decline in profitability at BJ's.

This is lousy timing on BJ's part. The company hired Morgan Stanley to identify strategic initiatives -- including the outright sale of the company -- earlier this month.

Fuel Systems Solutions
(Nasdaq: FSYS) swings away on Thursday. Even though the clean-energy specialist recently diluted its investors, it remains a popular and profitable player in its niche.

Madison Square Garden
(NYSE: MSG) closes out the trading week with its quarterly report. The resurgent New York Knicks and the general improvement in discretionary income make Madison Square Garden an interesting play these days. Will the company's financials play out like the offense-rich but defense-poor Knicks? Analysts see earnings climbing nearly 39% higher to $0.43 a share.

Until next week, I remain,
