Although we don't believe in timing the market or panicking over market movements, we do like to keep an eye on big changes -- just in case they're material to our investing thesis.

What: Shares of U.S. Gold Corp. (NYSE: UXG) jumped 10% late in trading today as gold hit a new high.

So what: As gold goes, so goes U.S. Gold, and with gold hitting new all-time highs today it's no surprise the stock is rising. Explorers are a leveraged way to invest in gold, so on days like today, gold's moves can be exaggerated.

Now what: There's no news specific to U.S. Gold today, so if you're bullish on gold then hang on for the ride. With uncertainty around the world there's no telling when gold is going to stop making new highs. Now may not be a great day to buy, but if the stock pulls back in coming days, gold is still a great place to park some money right now.
