For the quarter ended Dec. 31 (Q4), Allegheny Technologies missed on revenue and whiffed on earnings per share.

Non-GAAP EPS came in at $0.31. The 10 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ anticipated $0.54 per share on the same basis. GAAP EPS of $0.29 for Q4 were 81% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.16 per share.

For the quarter, gross margin was 13.5%, 120 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 5.7%, 200 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 2.5%, 100 basis points better than the prior-year quarter.
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $1.4 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.72.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $5.8 billion. The average EPS estimate is $3.64.
