For the quarter ended Sep. 30 (Q3), US Airways Group met expectations on revenues and beat expectations on earnings per share.
Compared to the prior-year quarter, revenue grew slightly and GAAP earnings per share grew significantly.
Margins grew across the board.

EPS came in at $0.98. The 12 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.95 per share. GAAP EPS of $1.24 for Q3 were 202% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.41 per share.

For the quarter, gross margin was 21.8%, 160 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 8.0%, 240 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 6.9%, 470 basis points better than the prior-year quarter.
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $3.26 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.12.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $13.83 billion. The average EPS estimate is $2.73.
