For the quarter ended Dec. 30 (Q4), Interface met expectations on revenues and missed estimates on earnings per share.
Compared to the prior-year quarter, revenue shrank and GAAP earnings per share grew significantly.
Margins grew across the board.

EPS came in at $0.13. The eight earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ anticipated $0.21 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.11 for Q4 were 83% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.06 per share. (The prior-year quarter included -$0.01 per share in earnings from discontinued operations.)

For the quarter, gross margin was 34.1%, 240 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 8.8%, 130 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 3.0%, 160 basis points better than the prior-year quarter.
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $220.1 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.17.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $995.4 million. The average EPS estimate is $0.89.
The stock has a four-star rating (out of five) at Motley Fool CAPS, with 121 members out of 139 rating the stock outperform, and 18 members rating it underperform. Among 53 CAPS All-Star picks (recommendations by the highest-ranked CAPS members), 50 give Interface a green thumbs-up, and three give it a red thumbs-down.
