On Thursday, the Department of Defense announced it has awarded Columbia, Md.-based TCOM Limited Liability Partnership its second contract in as many months related to the Army's Persistent Ground Surveillance System Program (PGSS).

In January, the Pentagon awarded TCOM $15.6 million in a firm-fixed-price delivery order for 22M and 28M "aerostat" parts and spares to be used on Army blimps used to monitor Taliban movements on the ground in Afghanistan. Today's contract, awarding TCOM an additional $10.7 million, is similarly for the order of "28M aerostat parts and spares."

The prior contract was due to be completed in May 2013. The current contract has a July 2013 completion date.
