Glu Mobile soared after the publisher of "freemium" games for mobile devices rolled out its first real-money gambling product. In cahoots with Probability, the new game is a slot machines featuring characters from Glu's Samurai vs. Zombies Defense game.

Heckmann -- the fracking water cleaner that will change its name to Nuverra after completing two major environmental-services purchases -- moved higher after reporting a quarterly profit of $0.06 a share. Analysts were bracing for a small loss.

BlackBerry moved higher as the country's two largest wireless carriers began taking preorders for the smartphone pioneer's first handset running the BlackBerry 10 mobile operating system. BlackBerry also announced that it received an order for a million phones, the largest purchase order in its history.

Amicus Therapeutics didn't have to fold its hand, moving higher after posting a much narrower deficit than Wall Street was expecting. Amicus is a biotech working on small-molecule drugs called pharmacological chaperones to treat human genetic diseases. Amicus has several drugs working their way through the long clinical trials approval process.

Ruckus Wireless was a winner after introducing a suite of four new Smart Wi-Fi mobile applications. Ruckus also drew attention to a research report showing that it posted the strongest revenue growth among wireless vendors for enterprise and outdoor wireless LANs for all of last year.
