Specialty insurance provider Unum (UNM -0.02%) announced yesterday its third-quarter dividend of $0.145 per share, an 11% increase to the payout made last quarter of $0.13 per share.
The board of directors said the quarterly dividend is payable on Aug. 16 to the holders of record at the close of business on July 29. The insurance company has made quarterly payouts to investors since 2001.
The regular dividend payment equates to a $0.58-per-share annual dividend, yielding 1.8% based on the closing price of Unum's stock on July 15.
