Exelon (EXC 1.57%) announced today that it will distribute its regular quarterly dividend of $0.31 per share for Q3 2013, marking the second of its newly reduced distributions. The utility originally announced that it would reduce its dividend by 40% in its Q4 2012 earnings report, and it followed through earlier this year with a Q2 $0.31 dividend distribution.

Despite the distribution decrease, Exelon's overall yield still stands at 3.86%, essentially equivalent to the industry's 3.8% average yield. The utility's latest dividend will be payable on Sept. 10 to any investors holding Exelon stock on Aug. 15.
