Biotech giant Amgen (AMGN -1.33%) announced on Friday its third-quarter dividend of $0.47 per share, the same rate it's paid for the past two quarters after raising the payout almost 31% from $0.36 per share.
The board of directors said the quarterly dividend is payable on Sept. 6 to the holders of record at the close of business on Aug. 16. The biotech began making a quarterly payout to investors in 2011.
The regular dividend payment equates to a $1.88-per-share annual dividend, yielding 1.7% based on Friday's closing price of Amgen's stock.
