Googorola Takes a Page From Apple's Playbook

The Moto X has been officially unveiled, and the device features a high-end price with mid-range specs. Motorola is hoping that it can convey a value proposition focused on the overall experience, a strategy not unlike its rival from Cupertino.

At long last, Google (GOOG 0.49%) subsidiary Motorola has unveiled the Moto X, a smartphone that's been rumored for over a year. Motorola is bucking the trend among most rival OEMs of waging a spec war -- the Moto X's spec sheet is as mid-range as it gets. Instead, the company is focusing on the user experience, which is precisely what rival Apple (AAPL 0.27%) has always done.
