Conglomerate 3M (MMM -0.66%) announced today its third-quarter dividend of $0.635 per share, the same rate it's paid for the past two quarters after raising the payout almost 8% from $0.59 per share.
The board of directors said the quarterly dividend is payable on September 12 to holders of record at the close of business on August 23. 3M has paid dividends to its shareholders for 97 consecutive years.
The regular dividend payment equates to a $2.54-per-share annual dividend, yielding 2.1% based on the closing price today of 3M's stock.
