ConAgra Foods (CAG 1.57%) is recalling some Kroger's (KR 0.64%) Break 'N Bake chocolate chip cookie dough because peanut butter cup cookie dough had accidentally been placed into chocolate chip cookie dough packaging, posing a risk to those with peanut allergies, the company announced yesterday.
The company said in press release that "People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. There have been no illnesses reported to date in connection with this product."
ConAgra said the recall is limited to Kroger's Break 'N Bake Chocolate Chip cookie dough with the following UPC and Use by date:

Use by: 24NOV13C21
The recalled item is sold in the following stores: Kroger, Dillons, Baker's, Gerbes, Foods Co., Food 4 Less, Fred Meyer, Fry's, Jay C, Owen's, Pay Less, Scott's, QFC, Ralphs, and Smith's in 26 states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona,California, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
Kroger said in a statement that it has removed affected items from store shelves and initiated its customer recall notification system. "Customers who may have purchased the affected products will receive register receipt messages and/or automated phone calls. Kroger is also placing signs in stores," the company said
Customers can return the item to the store where it was purchased for a full refund, and can call ConAgra customer relations at 800-252-0634 with questions.
