Independent energy company SM Energy (SM -0.26%) announced today its semi-annual dividend of $0.05 per share, the same rate it's paid since 1997.
The board of directors said the quarterly dividend is payable on November 6 to holders of record at the close of business on October 25. SM Energy has paid cash dividends to its stockholders every year since 1940.
The regular dividend payment equates to a $0.10-per-share annual dividend, yielding 0.1% based on the closing price today of SM Energy's stock.
